This year, for the first time, BOPARC is teaming up with the Comprehensive Lung Cancer Program of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and the Alliance for Lung Cancer Advocacy, Support and Education (ALCASE), to sponsor a top-notch race that supports a great cause-lung cancer treatment and prevention.
This is the only series entry to offer a distance option of 5 or 10K, with both events staged at White Park on the Fourth of July weekend. The first run was in 1979, and the BOPARC 10K is one of the oldest continuing races in the area. The USA Track & Field-certified course is a challenging loop that starts at White Park and runs to Marilla Park and back. The 5K course runs through White Park and the surrounding neighborhood. This race features T-shirts, awards, live local Television coverage and post-race refreshments.
