Ricky Moore of Wheeling, WV happens to be one of them. Sticking close to Kenya's Silah Misoi and Sammy Myamongo, Moore set his sights on first place. But the Kenyans had other plans. Their strategy held Moore to a respectable 2nd place overall finish, as Myamongo finished first with a time of 30:32. Moore's time was 31:05. Presently training in Montana and hoping to get a spot on the U.S. Half-Marathon team this November, Moore has been using 10k races as speed training.

The first West Virginia woman to finish, Heather Bury, (39:08), is a well known local runner at the Pro-level. This local celebrity trains on the hills of Bruceton Mills, WV, and heads the Morgantown Area Grand Prix Series.

The events ended with the infamous Clarksburg Kid'sK. Children were separated into their age groups and guided to the finish where the first runner could break the tape. Clarksburg is a hospitable town, and the volunteers are numerous. Thanks to all who participated in this annual event.
