Enjoy a Friday night pasta dinner, lots of prizes, and course by the stadium. Race Day Registration is located in the parking lots between Ruby Memorial Hospital and Mountaineer Field in Morgantown, WV. The 5K run and walk is a rolling, two-loop trek with one water stop and mile split times. To ensure your safety, no dogs, baby strollers, or headphones are allowed. This is in accordance with Road Runner Club of America guidelines.

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the races. Participants must be present to win.

Kid's Race(s): There will be three kids' races -- two short-distance races for younger kids and a 1K for older kids. Participation in these races is free. Parents must register their children on race morning.

** WVU Students ** Earn two hours of volunteer credit by participating in the race! Forms will be available at the registration table on race day.

Kid Races/Stuff: There will be arts and crafts activities throughout the morning, as well as kids' races starting at 10 a.m. Kids must be at least one year old to participate in these activities. --- PRIZES ---

  • Prizes - 5K Run Overalls // The top three male and female finishers will receive cash prizes: first place, $150; second place, $100; and third place, $50. There will be a $100 prize for setting a new men's or women's course record. The current men's record is 15:11; women's, 16:57.

  • Prizes - Age Groups // also will awarded to age group winners. Age group categories include: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 plus.

  • Prizes - Heavyweight // also will be awarded to the top three males in the heavyweight category (for those males who weigh more than 200 pounds). Heavyweight participants will be weighed at registration.

  • Prizes - 5K Walk // The top three male and female finishers will receive prizes. This is not an officially judged race walk; however, no running is allowed.

  • Prizes - Employees // The top three male and female finishers in the 5K run who work for WVUH, UHA or WVU Health Sciences will receive prizes.

  • No duplication of prizes. Unclaimed prize money will be donated to the Rosenbaum Memorial Fund. Prizes will only be awarded to those who are registered.

--- PASTA DINNER / FRIDAY NIGHT --- Pasta Dinner on Friday night, Sept. 12. 6-8 p.m. @ the WVU Health Sciences Center Cafeteria. Everyone who attends the dinner will be eligible for door prizes.

Park in the lot in front of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, enter the Cancer Center, and follow the signs.

All participants are invited to the pasta dinner. The dinner is included in the entry fee. Participants are welcome to bring friends and family to the dinner. The cost for non-participants is $5. The pasta dinner is being sponsored by WVUH.

Benjamin Moorehead, MD, of the WVU Sports Medicine Center, will discuss "Chronic Running Injuries" at the dinner.

The Richard Rosenbaum Memorial Fund // The September Stride benefits the Richard Rosenbaum Memorial Fund, which provides medication and equipment to children with cystic fibrosis and other pulmonary problems.

Richard "Rick" Rosenbaum, who was treated for cystic fibrosis at WVU since birth, died at age 36 in 1995. He was a dedicated advocate for children's programs associated with the hospital.

Rick was a local businessman and good friend to many of the organizers of this event. His family is responsible for creating the fund.
