There will be give away prizes for registered runners and walkers. This event is well known for it's cool T-shirts and post race treats, so come join the fun. You may not set a 10K PR, but we bet you'll have a personal best time!

- Race Day Registration - 7:00am to 8:30am
- 10K Trail Run - 9:00am Start, $17 by Aug. 29 /$20 thereafter
The 10K course is a challenging mix of paved road, dirt road and mountainous trail. The course follows a portion of the route the original Swiss settlers used when first coming to the area in October 1869. You will be crossing creeks and enjoying beautiful views. The first 2 miles are flat along the banks of the Buckhannon River. The next 2.5 miles is a gradual climb of 750 feet along Upper Trout Run to a scenic hilltop, hence the name Mountain Run! The last 1.7 miles quickly descends Zumbach Road back to Helvetia.
- 2-Mile Walk - 9:00am Start, $17 by Aug. 29 /$20 thereafter
This non-competitive walk starts immediately behind the 10K pack and follows the same route to the 2 mile mark. Dogs on a leash and strollers are welcome.
- Kids Fun Run - 8:45am Start, Free Entry /$10 T-shirts available race day.
This non-competitive Fun Run for kids age 10 and under starts at the same location as the 10k. The 1/4 mile course will turn left on Gruber Road, then left again past the Cheese Haus, over to the Museum, across Troll Bridge to the finish. All participants will receive an award. There is no fee, but parents must complete a registration form for their child. You may pre-registration for your child or register on race day.
- Water stations will be at mile 2 and 4.5. Split times at 2 miles.

Location
Helvetia is an unincorporated community in Randolph County, West Virginia. The small town is located approximately 1-hour from Buckhannon or Elkins. The town is 15 minutes from Holly River State Park.
From Buckhannon, WV - go 12 miles on Rt. 20 South to WV Wildlife Center, turn left onto Alexander/Helvetia Road. Follow signs, 20 miles to Helvetia.
From Elkins, WV - go 16 miles on Rt. 219 South to Mill Creek and turn right onto Mill Street. Follow signs, 20 miles to Helvetia.
From Charleston and South, WV - Take I-79N to Flatwoods exit 67. Take Rt. 19 North 20 miles to Ireland then Rt. 4 East (toward Rock Cave). 6 miles to WV Wildlife Center, turn right on the Alexander/Helvetia Road. Follow signs as above.
Camping
Free camping is available at the Lehmann Farm situated right on the 10k course. Come for the weekend if you like. Call Dan & Jodi Lehmann or e-mail for information or directions. They will do a short hash or fun run on Saturday Sept. 11 at 5pm followed by a evening around the campfire with brauts, dogs, kraut and even marshmallows. Feel free to bring something. The Exhibits in the Community Hall reward fresh and canned produce, handicrafts, art, flower arrangements, fabrics, 4H projects, baked goods, and much more. Regional crafters display and sell arts & crafts at the Star Band Hall, the Library sponsors a book sale, fine art and pottery are available at the Wunderbar Gallery, and traditional Swiss meals are found in the Hutte Restaurant.
Don't forget about the Saturday Night Square Dance in the Community Hall. Helvetians are more than happy to help you learn square dancing, polkas, and waltzes.
